- More exciting than watching paint dryThis weekend we had visitors! Our friends Sarah and David decided to come up to help out and enjoy a little fall camping.
- My Wife’s a Witch – Really!!In late September we were lucky enough to have a visit from the well drilling legend himself, Herb Lang. Herb has been providing water supply in the Peterborough area for over thirty years and it was great to have him drop by.
- Fun with big toolsThe approach I took to building our new house was “how hard can it be” relying on what I had learned from working with my father what seems like only a few years ago. In reality that was as much as 40 odd years ago and I was very young (almost an infant in fact).
- Rain, rain, go away!It’s been a busy couple of weeks, with progress in some areas and delays in others.
- Drier days and a new gateWe’re seeing more seasonal weather, and the drier days have helped to keep things moving along. Cladding is in progress and all of the water in the basement is getting pumped. The level of detail that goes into every inch is amazing. - Trusses up and windows orderedWe’ve had a dry spell – finally! – so there’s been some progress on the house. The trusses are now up and the framing is mostly done, giving a better idea of what the overall shape and layout of the house is going to look like.

- The New AdditionWe have a new addition. After selling his Hayabusa almost two years ago, someone was all smiles when we picked this baby up from Thunder Road in Windsor. - Day 11: Sunrise and CelebrationThought we’d share some highlights for those that couldn’t be with us. Writing this brings back a few welcome memories for us.

- Day 9: The BurrenDoolin is nestled against The Burren, an amazing geological area that is covered in limestone. This region, which looks somewhat prehistoric even today, is home to many old tombs and forts. We decided to do a little exploring. First stop, the Poulnabrone Dolmen. - Day 8: GalwayMy mom and Greg’s cousin Neil arrived in Dublin and took the train into Galway. Since we were picking them up, we ventured into the city early to check it out.
